Expanding its Nubia line-up of smartphones, Chinese technology company has launched a new smartphone. Dubbed Nubia Z18 Mini, the handset is the first in the Z18 series. The Z18 Mini is already up for pre-order in China, with deliveries set to commence April 19.
The smartphone has a starting price of around $285 (approximately INR 18,600), and even though there’s no word about the Z18 Mini getting launched in India, that just might happen. It’s worth mentioning that Nubia Z17 Mini – which launched in India last year (and is still available), has been fairly successful.
Talking about hardware specifications, Nubia Z18 Mini is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM. There’s 64GB/128GB of internal storage, with support for microSD cards of up to 256GB capacity.
ZTE Nubia Z18 Mini has a stunning all-glass design (Gorilla Glass at both front and back), and comes with a 5.7-inch FullHD+ IPS LCD panel. The 18:9 aspect ratio display has a resolution of 1080x2160pixels and a pixel density of around 424ppi.
For imaging duties, the Z18 Mini includes a dual-camera setup at the back. It’s comprised of 24MP unit and a 5MP unit, along with PDAF and LED flash. Other features like face-detection and HDR are there as well. The rear camera system can record 4K videos at 30fps. There’s also an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
Running Android 8.1 Oreo (with ZTE’s Nubia touch interface baked on top), the Z18 Mini has all the modern connectivity options. However, there’s no 3.5mm audio port. A 3,450mAh battery backs up the whole package.
The new Z18 Mini also has some AI-capabilities, thanks to the ‘Neosmart AI’ that’s inside it. There’s even a dedicated voice button for quick access to AI-related features.
