Xiaomi is known for launching value for money budget smartphones and it seems that a new device is going to join this list very soon. Called Xiaomi Redmi S2, the smartphone is reportedly said to be exclusive to India and China only. Expected to be launched under ₹10,000, the smartphone is said to come to India next month.
According to the information emerging from a post on XDADevelopers website, the Xiaomi Redmi S2 features an 18:9 aspect ratio equipped display with 1440×720 pixels of HD+ resolution. The smartphone is also said come with “face unlock” feature alongside a general fingerprint sensor placed on the rear.
The Xiaomi Redmi S2 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 MSM8953 processor and will come in two variants – 2GB RAM with 16GB of ROM and 3GB RAM with 32GB of ROM. On both handsets, the internal storage can be expanded through MicroSD card slots. It’s unclear whether it features a dedicated MicroSD slot.
Talking about camera division, the Xiaomi Redmi S2 features a combo of 12 and 5 megapixels shooters on the rear with LED flash. The 5MP sensor has Portrait Mode and Electronic Image Stabilization feature. The smartphone also features a 5 megapixels front facing camera.
Running on Android 8.0 Oreo-based MIUI, the Xiaomi Redmi S2 is backed by a 3,080 mAh battery. Further, as none of the aforementioned information has been officially confirmed yet, I would suggest to take them with a pinch of salt.
