Adding a new smartphones in its budget line-up, Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 6. The newcomer is a successor to the Redmi 5 which is still popular in India. The handset has been launched in an event held in China. Talking about highlights, the smartphones comes with face unlock feature and AI-powered dual cameras.
Redmi 6 Price and Availability
The Redmi 6 has been launched in two variants: 3GB RAM with 32GB ROM and 4GB RAM with 64GB ROM. The 3GB RAM variant has been priced at CNY 799 (approx. ₹8,400), while the 4GB RAM variant comes with a price tag of CNY 999 (approx. ₹10,500). Currently, the handset is said to be available only in China (15th June) but we expect the company to push this handset in Indian market pretty soon.
Redmi 6 Specifications and Features
Running on Android 8.1-based MIUI, the Redmi 6 is built around a 5.45 inch HD+ display with 720×1440 pixels of resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core processor running at 2GHz of clocked processing speed, embedded into MediaTek Helio P22 chipset.
The Redmi 6 features a combo of 12 and 5 megapixels cameras on the rear with AI capabilities. The handset also comes with a 5 megapixels camera placed at the front for selfies and video calling. Further, connectivity options on the smartphone include Micro-USB, GPS with A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0 and 4G LTE.
