Giving an end to various leaks and reports, Xiaomi officially wrapped off the Xiaomi Redmi S2. The smartphone has been showcased at its own Mi Store in the Czech Republic, hinting that the handset is dedicated to emerging markets. And when a smartphone is targeted to emerging markets, it is going to be priced under ₹15,000.
At the store, some key specifications have been revealed. The specifications card of this handset reveals that the Xiaomi Redmi S2 features a 5.99-inch display with 720×1440 pixels of HD+ resolution. The display comes with 18:9 aspect ratio.
The Xiaomi Redmi S2 is said to be launched in three variants – 2GB RAM with 16GB ROM, 3GB RAM with 32GB ROM and 4GB RAM with 64GB ROM. Internal storage of all three variants is expandable using MicroSD card. The smartphone is backed by a 3,080 mAh battery.
Running on Android 8.0 Oreo-based MIUI 9.5, the Xiaomi Redmi S2 features a combo of 12 and 5 megapixels shooters on the rear; out of which, the 5 megapixels sensor is dedicated to creating the bokeh effect. The imaging department is also blessed with a 16 megapixels front facing the camera.
