Lately, the arguments about the increasing adoption of the Notch in smartphones have been getting so much fuel that the whole thing has turned into a full-fledged controversy now. And it is starting to get on our nerves. Personally, the Notch doesn’t really matter to me. I’m fine with or without it. But I would go on to say that given the space constraints on a device as compact as a smartphone, manufacturers are going to experiment with different designs to fit, accommodate and adapt to innovate.
With that rant out of the way, I’m just happy to report that this is not another piece of news on the Notch. It is about a much more sophisticated and possibly the most awaited tech of 2018 – the under-display fingerprint sensor. The latest development on this is that Xiaomi’s next flagship, Mi 7, is likely to come with the fingerprint sensor integrated into the screen.
This is more or less certain. A screenshot (above) of a bunch of comments is doing the rounds on the internet in which Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, seems to have given his confirmation on this subject. Besides that, the Xiaomi Mi 7 will come powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset combined with 8 GB of RAM. Its starting price is speculated to be around $ 475.
