Xiaomi is one of the most active mobile phone manufacturers in the world at this moment. Today, the company launched the Xiaomi Mi 5X smartphone with Snapdradon 625 and dual rear camera at a price tag of USD 220. The Chinese phone maker has established itself quite well against the industry giants like Apple and Samsung as it delivers some impressive mid-range smartphones with decent specifications and performance. Also, its custom user interface, MIUI, provides a bit of a unique Android experience.
The specifications of the latest Xiaomi offering are hardly a surprise as various leaks already predicted those correctly. The handset is powered by the Snapdragon 625 processor along with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The screen is 5.5 inches and throws Full HD resolution. The operating system is Android Nougat based MIUI 9 which is Xiaomi’s latest iteration of its custom UI.
One of the other major highlights is the rear dual camera – both lenses are of 12 mega-pixel. The battery is a 3,080mAh unit which should provide decent running time.
Xiaomi’s latest version of its custom user interface is based on the Android Nougat 7.0 and has three new (or primary) features – image search, smart assistant and smart app launcher.
Along with these, the MIUI 9 is intended for a more refined user experience and optimized for quicker app launches. Given that the Mi 5X is a mid-range device, and an Android OS at its core, a smooth function throughout the entire user interface becomes critically important.
