As soon as the Redmi Note 5 Pro was launched, leaks and rumors about its successor – the Redmi Note 6 Pro started popping up. But now, the company has given an end to these rumors by launching the handset for real. It has been launched in Thailand where it costs THB 6,990 (approx. ₹15,600). The handset will be available in three color options – Rose Gold, Blue and Black. Unfortunately, we have no information regarding its launch in India.
Redmi Note 6 Pro Specifications and Features
Talking about the specifications, the Redmi Note 6 Pro is built around a 6.26 inches full HD+ IPS display with 86% screen-to-body ratio, 500nits brightness, 19:9 aspect ratio and 2280×1080 pixels of resolution. The handset runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9 operating system.
Under the hood of the Redmi Note 6 Pro lies Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 SoC which packs an octa-core processor running at 1.8GHz of clocked processing speed. It also has Adreno 509 graphics processing unit coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM which can be expanded up to 128GB using MicroSD.
Coming to the imaging department, the Redmi Note 6 Pro features a dual rear camera setup comprised of 12MP (dual Pixel autofocus & f/1.9 aperture) and 5MP (depth sensor) cameras. The company has also placed an AI-powered dual camera setup at the front – 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 2MP secondary sensor.
The Redmi Note 6 Pro has 3.5mm audio jack, Micro-USB 2.0, GPS with GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.0, dual band Wi-Fi and dual SIM with dual 4G VoLTE. It features a fingerprint sensor as well as face unlock feature for security. Further, backed by a 4,000 mAh battery, the handset measures 157.9×76.38×8.2mm in dimensions.
