Sony has expanded the range of its offerings again. This time with announcing the Sony Xperia A2 Plus. The smartphone is a sibling of Xperia A2 and Xperia A2. This handset is the very first model of Xperia A2 series to come with 18:9 aspect ratio. As of now, Sony has not revealed pricing or availability details of this handset, however, it is expected to fall under mid-range segment (judging from specs).
Sony Xperia A2 Plus Specifications and Features
Said to be available in four color options – Green, Gold, Silver and Black, the Sony Xperia A2 Plus is built around a 6-inch full HD+ display protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5. The smartphone measures 157x75x9.6mm in dimensions and weighs 205 grams which is a bit heavier if we compare to other Android smartphones.
Under the hood of the Sony Xperia A2 Plus is Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 630 SoC which packs an octa-core processor and Adreno 508 graphics processing unit. It will come in two variants: 4GB RAM with 32GB ROM and 6GB RAM with 64GB ROM. The internal storage is expandable using MicroSD card.
The Sony Xperia A2 Plus features a 23 megapixels rear camera which is an 84-degree wide angle lens with f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera supports ISO 12,800 and 120 fps slow motion video recording. The handset also features an 8 megapixels front facing camera which is a 120-degree wide-angle lens with f/2.4 aperture.
Further, the Sony Xperia A2 Plus has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB type-c, 3.5mm audio jack and GPS with GLONASS. It is backed by a 3,580 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.
