It was being highly speculated that this would be it. For the last few days, August 23 was said to be the date when Samsung would unveil the Galaxy Note 8, only that it wasn’t confirmed by the company itself. But this is not the case anymore as Samsung has finally confirmed the mentioned date. The next Note is indeed coming later in August.
The invite that the South Korean company has sent out is subtle with a black background and shows the phone’s sketch in a horizontal arrangement exposing only the top and bottom bezels while the sides are invisible (pointing towards zero bezels). The event is named ‘Unpacked’ with a tag line ‘Do bigger things’.
Interestingly, the sketch in the invite confirms an important design detail about the handset – that the top and bottom bezels are likely equal in measure. This ends the confusion that the top bodywork could be larger than expected due to a recent leaked render by one of the Note 8’s case maker. Suffice it to say that the design may resemble that of the Galaxy S8.
While the phone is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 835 with 4 GB and 6 GB of RAM depending on the storage capacity, one of the more interesting features about it is the dual camera setup at the back. Once again, this would be a first for a Samsung device. Lastly, expect some interesting features for the stylus as well.
Keep watching this space as we bring more updates on this.
