Samsung launched its first 512GB MicroSD card for nearly €300
Previously, Samsung had announced in the summer that a 512 GB microSD card is in development and will be launching soon. Finally, the launch time has come. The German version of the Samsung company website and online store listed the SD card with the staggering price tag of €289.90. The company is yet to launch it, but you can sign up so that you will be notified when it will be made available.
The extremely high price is even more astounding when you see that the 256 GB micro SD is available for just €99.90. This means you pay thrice the price for just double the storage of 256 GB SD card. For ease, at least the German website offers some monthly installment deals.
The read and write speeds for this EVO+ 512 GB SD card are up to 100 MB/s. As said by Samsung, a 3 GB video in 4K resolution will be transferred in just 38 seconds in this new SD card. The capacity is equal to 78 hours of Full HD video or 150,300 images, but the fine print says the storage capacity is actually 93.1% of the designated capacity. For convenience, there is also an SD adapter in the package. The company offers a 10-year warranty on the product.
