Finally, Samsung launched its much-awaited Flagship Galaxy Note 9 yesterday, extending its Note Lineup. At first look, the new Note 9 looks like a small upgrade over the Note 8 but it has a lot of improvements and features to offer.
Starting off with the looks the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has a lot of common in design with its predecessor but the company added a bigger display without a notch as usual and a bigger 4,000 mAh battery capacity.
The display is huge at 6.4-inch which comes with a resolution of 1440x2960px. The AMOLED display in device is HDR10 compliant and also supports Always On feature.
The fingerprint sensor has moved to a more sensible place that is under the dual camera setup, so no under the display fingerprint sensor in Note 9. However, Samsung Galaxy S10 is more likely to feature such sensor.
The camera comes with a 12MP dual-aperture f/1.5-2.4 wide and 12MP f/2.4 telephoto cameras, both the cameras are optically stabilized. The cameras are equipped with Samsung’s intelligent camera technology which can optimize colours, contrast and can detect flaws such as subject has eyes closed or smudgy lens. The device has an 8 MP Selfie camera with f/1.7 aperture.
The processing power is supported by Exynos 9810 Octa-core and it also has Stereo speakers. However, the company will launch Snapdragon 845 chip based mobiles in US and Chinese markets. The Galaxy Note is obviously IP68 water resistant.
The biggest selling point of Samsung’s Note series is its S Pen so they made the new S pen much smarter undoubtedly. It is the first Bluetooth-enabled S Pen and has plenty of features such as clicking photos. The S Pen has a battery of about 30 minutes or 200 clicks and it recharges in just 40 seconds inside its holster built into the phone (amazing). It has a range of 10 meters and supports three-way input i.e short press, long press, and double press.
The DeX on Galaxy Note 9 has also got an update. It no longer needs DeX Dock and physical keyboard and mouse. The Galaxy Note 9 can enter DeX mode just by connecting USB-C to HDMI cable. In DeX mode Note 9 is fully functional and can be used as keyboard and trackpad. The Galaxy Note 9 also supports Fast Wireless Charging.
The base model of Samsung Galaxy Note 9 comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and if that’s not enough for you then you can always expand it through the microSD card. The highest variant of Galaxy Note 9 comes with 512GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. The colour choices available in Samsung Galaxy Note 9 are Ocean Blue, Midnight Black, Lavender Purple and the new Metallic Copper. The price for the 6GB/128GB Galaxy Note 9 costs $999 (68975.96 INR) while the 8GB/512GB model will be available for $1,250(86306.25 INR). These are the expected pricing, the company hasn’t announced the pricing for Indian markets.
