Xiaomi Redmi Y1 was launched last year and as Xiaomi is known for refreshing the lineup of its offerings, it won’t be a surprise if I tell you that Redmi Y2 is coming very soon. The successor of Redmi Y1, the Redmi Y2 has appeared at benchmark (GeekBench) where it scored 843 points on single core and 4196 points on multi-core, suggesting a decent performance.
Redmi Y2 Specifications and Features
The Redmi Y2 is scheduled to be launched on 7th of June in China with no words on launch in India however, it is said that the handset might be launched in India soon after China. It runs on Android 8.0 with MIUI and is built around a 5.99 inch HD+ display with 1440×720 pixels of resolution, 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass.
The Redmi Y2 will be launched in two variants – 3GB RAM with 32GB ROM and 4GB RAM with 64GB ROM. Both variants’ internal storage is expandable up to 256GB via microSD. It features dual rear camera setup – 12MP (with PDAF and f/2.2 aperture) and 5MP (with LED flash). A 16MP camera with LED flash is also placed at the front for selfies and video calling.
For unawares, the Redmi Y-series is dedicated to selfies or we can say that focused on front facing camera. It is said to come with AI camera features with two major AI modes – AI Beauty and AI Portrait.
