OnePlus 5T Might Be Nearing Launch As New Images Leak
Last year, OnePlus surprised everyone by launching OnePlus 3T barely six months after the launch of OnePlus 3. And it seems that the Chinese company is planning something similar this year too.
Since past few weeks, rumors have been floating around the web that OnePlus might soon launch OnePlus 5T, a slightly-upgraded variant of its 2017 flagship smartphone – OnePlus 5. If the rumors are to be believed, the smartphone may launch as early as next month.
According to multiple online reports, OnePlus 5T will feature a tall, 18:9 aspect ratio display, keeping up with the latest trend in smartphone design. It’s also possible that the display size will be bumped up to 6-inch, and the resolution will also increase to 1080×2160 pixels. However, the physical footprint of the smartphone will remain the same as that of the OnePlus 5.
If this is true, OnePlus 5T will obviously have to relocate its front-mounted fingerprint sensor to the back. This has been reportedly confirmed via recently-leaked images, which show the alleged OnePlus 5T with the fingerprint sensor on the back.
Other hardware specifications of the smartphone are likely to remain the same, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. As is the case of OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T might also launch with a high-end variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
The new smartphone will allegedly run the latest build of Oxygen OS, based on Android 8.0 Oreo. The dual-camera setup at the back will be there as well.
All that said, nothing has been officially confirmed by the company yet. We’ll bring you the latest and the most-updated news about the OnePlus 5T.
