Nokia was nearly vanished from the market but it seems that it is going to rule the market again. The company, now owned by HMD Global, made its comeback with launching the Nokia 6 – the very first Nokia-branded android smartphone. Though the handset was a bit overpriced considering other phones that were available for a cheaper price with better specs.
Anyway, it’s been around one year since the company launched Nokia 6 and now we have the latest data of global smartphone shipment. Nokia has managed to get a seat in the list of top 10 companies who shipped the most number of the smartphone in Q2 2018.
Last year in Q2, Nokia shipped just 0.5% of 100% smartphones but this year that number has grown to 4.5%. If we talk about market share, Nokia had 0% market share last year but this number has grown to 1% this year. See the graph below.
