While the recently released Nokia 3, 5 and 6 are supposed to bring in sales numbers, the Nokia 9 is expected to mark the company’s entry into the elite group. A return, sort of, for the Finnish company.
Any company that wishes to be taken seriously as a smartphone manufacturer today must produce a phone capable enough to slug it out with the best-of-the-best in the industry. After all, a high end phone is possibly the best way to showcase the innovation in technology and design.
Nokia has been gunning for the unveil of its upcoming flagship while keeping it well under the wraps before giving out too many spoilers. Nevertheless, we would try and bring together all that we know so far about what should be Nokia’s best smartphone till date.
FCC Certification has been acquired for the phone hinting at its US launch among the other major markets. It apparently appeared as model TA-1004. The support for Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and LTE Band 2 4/5/7/38/41 is there as well. Also, read this to have a basic idea about what FCC certification means.
Nokia 9 was earlier known as Nokia 8 before the MWC (Mobile World Conference). A brand photographer for the company accidentally leaked a video as well (which was later removed) revealing certain interesting hardware elements about the phone like the dual rear camera and the glass back. It will likely follow the design structure of Nokia 6 with the fingerprint sensor at the front.
The screen resolution is said to be at 2k on a not-so-big 5.2-inch of display ensuring extremely high PPI density. It will come with Android Nougat 7.1.1 (which shall be upgradable to the upcoming Android O) with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The camera is considered to be of 13MP with dual lenses putting it right against the likes of iPhone 7 Plus.
The phone has appeared on Geekbench as well with a strong indication towards the inclusion of Snapdragon 835 processor. It was seen clocked at 1.9 GHz with eight cores and managing to achieve single-core and multi-core scores of 1815 points and 6278 points respectively.
Lastly, the price is speculated to be at USD $700 which isn’t too ambitious. Keep watching this space as we bring you more new information on Nokia 9.
