Precisely a week back, we reported about the upcoming Nokia event, to be held on October 4, in London. There’s heavy speculation around the world wide web that HMD Global will unveil the rumored Nokia 7.1 Plus on that day even though the company might surprise us all by introducing the Nokia 9.

Nevertheless, the case of Nokia 7.1 Plus is much stronger and now, the handset’s first set of live images have appeared online.

The images have appeared on a Chinese portal Baidu thereby revealing a good deal about the design of the handset in question. First of all, there are two colors (there would be more options most likely), the first one looks like a copper finish while the second one is quite clearly a silver color. In both the cases, the finish is shiny and quite reflective. And this means that the material should either be metallic or perhaps glass. But it looks metallic to us, especially the copper one.

Next is the usual fingerprint sensor, which is lies around the middle of the handset, right below the vertically aligned dual camera module. All this is followed by the Nokia branding right at the center of the bodywork.

Since these images have come from China, this means that the handset will probably be called Nokia X7 while in the international markets, it will be renamed to Nokia 7.1 Plus. Secondly, as Nokia X7, it won’t get Google services while as the 7.1 Plus, it shall fall under the Android One program which means regular and fast software updates for minimum 2 years.

Next week, we shall what it exactly is but all hints point towards the unveiling of Nokia 7.1 Plus. Keep watching this space for more info on this as well as other upcoming smartphones in 2018.
