HMD Global which operates the brand Nokia is working on its upcoming flagship smartphone. The smartphone will be named as Nokia 9 PureView. The name of the Nokia’s upcoming flagship has been confirmed by Roland Quandt of WinFuture.de on his Twitter profile.
Nokia Malaysia’s Facebook page has also confirmed Nokia 9 PureView name. The post says “Coming soon. Nokia 9 with 5 Camera Zeiss Lenses & Pureview”.
A few months ago HMD Global acquired the PureView brand trademark. PureView was purchased by Microsoft a few years ago when they purchased Nokia’s business. The first Nokia device with PureView branding was the Nokia 808 PureView. The device was launched way back in 2012 with a whopping 41 MP camera, now the latest information has confirmed that the next Nokia flagship will have Pureview branding with pretty impressive camera features.
From the past couple of months, we have been hearing rumors and speculations about the Nokia 9 to be the next flagship smartphone from HMD. Now according to his tweet, HMD Global’s upcoming flagship will be Nokia 9 PureView.
Shining lights upon the specifications, the Nokia 9 PureView smartphone will have a 22 MP primary camera. Earlier Leaked images have also shown the alleged Nokia 9 phone with Penta camera setup and Zeiss branding. Other rumored specifications tell us that the phone will have a 5.7-inch Quad-HD POLED screen. The device will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 chipset with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The device is also rumored to be the first Nokia phone sporting an in-display fingerprint sensor.
