Xiaomi Skips Mi7, Launching Mi8 with High-End Specs

The Xiaomi Mi7 was in the leaks since a long time. The upcoming android smartphone was making headline almost on a daily basis. But now, giving an end to those rumors, the company has posted an official launch poster which says that the company is going to launch Xiaomi Mi8 on 31^st of May. The company has skipped Mi7 and used the number “8”, most probably because its 8^th anniversary is here.

Xiaomi Mi8 Specifications and Features

The handset is said to come in a standard and plus model. Along with these two, there will be an 8th anniversary special edition Mi8 which might come with unique color scheme. The Xiaomi Mi8 is said to be built around a 5.6 inch full HD 18:9 display. It will features Qualcomm’s top-end Snapdragon 845 processor along with 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The handset will also come in two storage variants: 64GB and 128GB. What’s interesting about this handset is that it might feature in-screen fingerprint sensor.

Coming to the imaging department, the Xiaomi Mi8 will feature two 16 megapixel shooters on the rear; while a 20 megapixels camera is said to be placed at the front. The handset will be backed by a 4,480 mAh battery with 7.5W Qi Wireless Charging.
