LG G7 ThinQ Smartphone To Launch On May 3
And It'll Have That Damn Notch!
After weeks of speculations and rumours, we finally have some concrete information about LG’s upcoming flagship smartphone.
In a press release, the chaebol has confirmed that its 2018 flagship will be launching simultaneously in New York (May 2) and Seoul (May 3). LG has also confirmed ‘G7 ThinQ’ as the new smartphone’s moniker. This clearly means that the G7 will have advanced AI-related capabilities. It’s worth mentioning that the company launched an AI-enhanced version of its V30 smartphone, earlier this year at MWC 2018. Unsurprisingly, it’s called LG V30S ThinQ.
Interestingly, just a little before the confirmation of the G7 ThinQ’s launch date, AndriodHeadlines website outed what is claimed to be one of the official press renders of the upcoming flagship smartphone. The render shows all the color options that LG G7 ThinQ will come in. It also confirms that the smartphone will indeed have the controversial notch above its display.
As far as the other hardware specifications are concerned, LG G7 ThinQ can be expected to come with Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 845 SoC, alongwith 4GB/6GB of RAM. It’ll most likely have a 6-inch QuadHD+ display, and an unusual 19:9 aspect ratio.
The new smartphone is also rumored to come with a dedicated hardware button for quickly-accessing its AI-assistant. But unlike Samsung’s Bixby button, LG G7 ThinQ’s hardware button will most-certainly be remappable.
