Following the latest trend of having multiple variants of the same model (usually seen in high-end phones), LG has launched the Plus variant of its flagship G6, simply called G6 Plus. It has been announced for the Korean market for now while our safe assumption is that it shall be available in India in the near future.
Compared to the G6, the Plus gets the double of amount of internal storage with 128 GB, however, the RAM is said to be unchanged at 4 GB, but there are reports about the G6 Plus having the 6 GB of RAM. This shall be cleared soon I guess.
Also, one of the most important features in the bigger sibling is the Qi Wireless Charging ability. This is proving to be a useful feature purely because one doesn’t have to worry about using the power port to charge the phone.
LG is trying to push this phone for audiophiles as well as the phone will come with B&O (Bang and Olufsen) earphones as standard. It also features what LG calls a quad-DAC for better reproduction of music. Additionally, the Plus variant is equipped face recognition functionality. The phone can be unlocked by simply pointing it to the face.
There’s a feature of low power consumption as well to enhance the battery life of the phone. Various sensors optimize the power requirement by different apps and functionalities in the phone thereby lowering the risk of power wastage. It will be available in following colors – Optical Marine Blue, Optical Terra Gold and Optical Black.
