After much speculation and wait, Huawei has finally officially unveiled the Honor Note 10. The phone is currently launched in China and shipments are said to start from today itself.

The Honor Note 10 comes with a humongous display which measures 6.95 inches. It is an AMOLED unit and delivers Full HD+ resolution (1080p x 2220p). What’s more, the display is HDR10 compliant and supports 115% NTSC color gamut. This shall deliver a more vibrant viewing experience.

It is a flagship-level device and comes with the HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset, which is Huawei’s in-house processor. This processor is appropriately paired with 6 GB or 8 GB RAM options along with 64 GB and 128 GB storage. So far, this is more or less the usual stuff with the exception of the HDR 10 compliance.

Things actually get interesting from here on. The chipset has some serious cooling system – there are 8 layers meant to dissipate heat and then there’s a ninth layer, which is basically a dedicated desktop-level liquid-cooled pipe claimed to offer 41% better heat management leading 10-degree lower temperature under heavy load. Huawei is calling this cooling system “the Nine” as it contains overall 9 cooling layers.

To further improvise the gaming and general performance, the phone supports GPU Turbo as well as CPU Turbo. Additionally, both of these technologies can be combined together to create a Double Turbo mode. This can be enabled by pressing a dedicated hardware button at the bottom of the phone.

Coming to the camera, the Honor Note 10 comes with a dual camera comprised of 24 MP + 16 MP lenses. Both lenses have the same aperture size of f1.8. The front camera is a 13 MP (f2.0) unit. Expectedly, there’s AI support for various scene detection. There’s a generously sized 5,000 mAh battery too.

The phone is launched in China at a starting price of CNY 2,799 (which roughly translates to around Rs 28,000). This is for the 6 GB RAM/64 GB storage variant.

Keep watching this space for more information on this as well as on other upcoming smartphones in 2018.
