Google Home and Home Mini launched in India
One of the world’s biggest tech giant, Google, has finally launched its Google Home and Google Home Mini speakers in India. These speakers have been launched at Rs 9,999 and Rs 4,999 respectively. Appropriately enough, these prices are right on point with those of the Amazon Echo and the Echo Dot speakers.
Amazon has been enjoying sort of a monopoly in India since the launch of its Echo speakers in December. It has been received fairly well. Now, Google has decided to bring a choice for people who are looking to get something like this.
Well, calling these gadgets merely speaker is an understatement. These are smart speakers, like a smartphone. They have Wi-Fi feature which, apparently, is not what they are famous for. The Google Home speakers are made smart with the inclusion of Google’s voice assistant, called Google Assistant. Yes, the same found in many Android smartphones worldwide.
These smart speakers are available through Flipkart as well as offline through Reliance Digital, Croma and Bajaj Electronics. For Flipkart customers, there is going to be a free JioFi wireless data card, 10% and 5% cash backs and HDFC and Axis Bank cards respectively. This is exclusive for online customers. For all customers though, they will get six months free subscription of Google Play Music.
