Tata Docomo, a brand managed by Tata Teleservices has updated its Rs 179 plan for its prepaid customers. The Tata Docomo Rs 179 plan will now offer more data benefits with a validity span of 28 days.
According to the reports by Telecom Talks, with Rs 179 plan the users will now get unlimited voice calling, 1.4 GB data and 100 SMS per day. The unlimited calling and roaming are only available at home network and outside the home network, the users will be charged at 30 paise per minute. However, the calling comes with a limit as Docomo has limited the voice calls to 250 minutes per day. After exhausting the daily calling limit, calls will be charged at 30 paise per minute.
Summing up, the customers will be getting 39.2GB data for the entire validity period i.e 28 days. After the consumption of 1.4GB daily data, users will be charged at 10 paise per MB.
Reliance Jio is already offering Rs 149 prepaid plan to compete with Docomo’s Rs 179 plan. The Rs 149 plan by Jio offers 1.5 GB of 4G data per day with a validity of 28 days, along with unlimited calling and SMS usage. Vodafone also has such a plan which is priced at Rs 159. The Vodafone’s Rs 159 prepaid plan offers 1GB data per day and unlimited voice calls for a time period of 28 days.
Also, there is a similar plan by Airtel which costs Rs 168 and offers its users 1 GB of daily data, 100 SMS per day and unlimited voice call without any FUP limit. The plan has a validity of 28 days.
In this cut-throat competition by telecom operators, both Jio and Airtel emerge as winners as they both offer voice calls without any FUP limit whereas Docomo plan comes with a voice calling limit.
