Fresh Leak: Xiaomi Redmi 5 Images with Specs

Xiaomi is not the one to attract any less attention than the likes of Samsung and Apple, at least when it comes to leaks and speculations. Apparently, the Chinese company’s upcoming Redmi 5 handset has been shown in official images and it includes some interesting specifications as well.

First off, the device will be available in two variants, but here’s the catch, it doesn’t mean two different screen sizes. That part, along with things like camera, is going to remain same. What will change is the processor, RAM and storage combination.

What’s Common?

The display will measure at 5 inches delivering a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and it will be of IPS LCD variety. The main camera will have a 16 mega-pixel lens along with a 5 mega-pixel front shooter. Running power will be provided by a 3,680mAh battery. Interestingly, it is smaller than the one found on the Redmi 4 which is 4,100mAh. The operating system will be Android Nougat 7.1.1 along with MIUI 9.0.

What’s Not So Common?

For one of the variants, the performance will come through the Snapdragon 825 processor clocking at 2 Ghz and 3 GB of RAM. Furthermore, there will be another two options for internal storage with an option of 16 GB or 32 GB.

The second variant will get the slightly more powerful Snapdragon 630 processor (clocking at 2.2 Ghz) with 4 GB of RAM. The internal storage will be 64 GB. However, both variants will have expandable storage via microSD card.

The price for the Snapdragon 625 variant is said to be USD 126 (3 GB RAM/16 GB storage) and USD 153 (3 GB RAM/32 GB storage) while the Snapdragon 630 variant is likely to be priced at USD 162.
