BMW G310 R and G310 GS launched in India: Offers Unlimited Km 3-Year Warranty
After a long-long wait, BMW Motorrad has finally launched their all-new small-displacement motorcycles – G310 R and G310 GS – in India. The two motorcycles are made in India, by TVS, and being exported to European market since last year. Only now they are launched here.
The G310 R is available at a price of Rs 2,99,000 and the G310 GS is available at a price of Rs 3,49,000. Both prices are ex-showroom Delhi. Furthermore, both motorcycles are offered with 3-year, unlimited km, warranty. This can be extended to a total of 5 years as well.
The G310 R is a typical street motorcycle in a naked avatar, also called a streetfighter. On the other hand, the G310 GS is based on (styling wise) BMW’s GS range of adventure motorcycles. While the R is completely street-oriented, the GS is a versatile offering designed to be good on-road, at the same time, and for mild off-roading.
Both the motorcycles share the same 313cc single-cylinder engine which air-cooled and gets 4-valve head. It is a DOHC architecture and the fueling is handled by fuel-injection. The power figures are also same – 34 PS @ 9,500 RPM and 28 NM @ 7,500 RPM. Lastly, both motorcycles have the same fuel tank capacity of 11 litres.
The 310 R has a much lower seat height at 785 mm which is friendlier for short riders while the GS has a seat height of 835 mm. Similarly, the GS carries higher ground clearance making it suitable for bad or dirt tracks.
Furthermore, with the inclusion of a windscreen (even though it’s quite small), the GS is more touring-friendly. The motorcycles will be available from the exclusive BMW Motorrad showrooms across the country. Bookings have been going on since last month for an amount of Rs 50,000.
