Asus’s latest flagship smartphone – the Asus Zenfone 5Z is on its way to India. The company has officially revealed that this handset will be launched on 4th of July in India. With no words on pricing, the company has started sending out media invites. Targeted to upper mid-range segment, the handset will be a major competitor of OnePlus 6.
Talking about features, the Asus Zenfone 5Z is built around a 6.2 inch full HD+ display with notch, 1080×2246 pixels of resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. It has very thin bezels at the bottom, rest area is covered with display. The handset runs on Android 8.0 Oreo-based Zen UI 5.0 which is upgradable to Android P.
Under the hood of Asus Zenfone 5Z is Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with Adreno 630 Graphics Processing Unit. It comes in two variants: 6GB RAM with 128GB ROM and 8GB RAM with 256GB ROM. Both variants’ internal storage can be expanded up to 2TB via MicroSD.
The Asus Zenfone 5Z features dual rear camera setup – 12MP and 8MP. The 12MP camera has Sony’s IMX363 sensor with 83-degree field of view, f/1.8 aperture and Softlight LED flash; whereas the 8MP camera is a 120-degree wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture. The handset also features an 8 megapixels front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree field of view.
Connectivity options on the Asus Zenfone 5Z include USB Type-C, GPS with A-GPS, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and 4G with VoLTE. It is backed by 3,300 mAh battery which is powered by Asus’s BoostMaster fast charging and AI charging. Further, the handset measures 153×75.65×7.85mm in dimensions with 155 grams.
