With each passing month of 2018, we arrive closer to the month of September around which time Apple usually unveils its new iPhones. And the closer we get, more speculations and renders of the upcoming phones start to make appearance too. We have finally got some very neat renders of the 6.5-inch iPhone as well as the 6.1-inch model.
iPhone with 6.5-inch display
According to the leaked renders, the 6.5-inch model is the closest in appearance to the current iPhone X, and it shall be called the iPhone X Plus given its larger display. On that note, the display will remain OLED, of course, supplied by Samsung. Also, this time everything seems to be quite on time so there shall be no delays in the availability of the phones like it happened last year with the iPhone X.
The front has a similar wide notch along with thin side and bottom bezels. We expect that the Face ID feature is bound to get better in the next iPhones. Also, we aren’t sure if the fingerprint sensor will make a return, in fact, we are quite doubtful of its return.
The backside gets the familiar vertically aligned dual camera setup. It is generally considered one of the best smartphone cameras right now and we are expecting further improvements to the Portrait modes as well as in the night performance.
Lastly, there are volume and silent/vibration buttons on the left side of the screen whereas the right side gets the slightly larger Power button.
iPhone with 6.1-inch display
It is almost a certainty that Apple will launch 3 new iPhones in 2018 with 2 of them sporting the OLED display and the 3rd one coming with the IPS LCD (and this shall be the budget model of the three).
Besides the IPS LCD display panel measuring a generous 6.1 inches, another major differentiating factor between this and the 6.5-inch model is main camera. The 6.1-inch model, as per the renders, is equipped with a single-lens camera. This, and the LCD screen, will ensure that the 6.1-inch iPhone will be the least expensive of the three. Rest of the design factor is bound to remain same – notch, ultra-thin side/bottom bezels, volume/silent/vibration buttons on the left and Power button on the right.
Keep watching this space as we bring more updates on the upcoming iPhones and various other smartphones in 2018.
